How learnrealfrench.com works
The discussion group meets every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm until 9.00pm, and generally consists of between 5 and 8 people – enough people for a meaningful conversation, but without too many, giving everyone a full opportunity to talk and join in the discussion
The group meets at Nigel & Patricia’s home in Tenterden
learnrealfrench.com operates on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis and costs just £10 per weekly session. You can come as often as you like, without having to commit yourself to a long-term programme. It’s your choice (subject to space availability)
We generally cover a different topic each week. We usually start by asking people what they did at the weekend, and move on to either explore a particular topic, or just continue the conversation around the subject under discussion – as we would in English
The whole idea is to get people talking confidently across a wide range of subjects. We’re open and broad-minded, and exchange views and ideas on food and wine, music, film, tv and theatre, politics, education, sport, family and relationships, health and lifestyle etc.
We also have specific themes that we cover and occasionally re-visit (food, restaurants, DIY etc). We also explore certain words used in different contexts to broaden our overall knowledge of the French language
When we don’t know a word, we look it up, and once a month, we provide everyone with a list of that month’s vocabulary
Through group discussion, you will be able to learn and practice, share experiences, develop your confidence and ability, and above all … have fun!

“A glass of wine, a lot of laughs and conversation in French"
